Virtus isn't only for youth athletes. Adult Strength Training is a coached group class for adults who are still competing, whether that's masters athletics, a rec or club league, or running, and for adults who simply want to get strong, move well, and stay healthy without guessing their way through it.
What a session looks like
Group classes run 55 minutes and are capped at 10, led start to finish by a coach. Every session includes:
- Warmup
- Power development
- Strength development
- Mobility
- Injury prevention
No experience needed. Classes are open and scalable for every training age, and coaches modify on the spot, so a first-timer and someone who's lifted for years can train together and both get a session that suits them.
If you're still competing
Plenty of adults here have a season, a race calendar, or a league night they're training around. That's the training we know best. It's the same job we do for the athletes, with the training built to support competition rather than compete with it.
- Tell us when your competitions are and we adjust the work around them.
- Power and speed are trained, not just strength. Most adult programs quietly drop them, and they're the first things to go.
- Coaches watch your technique every set, which is what keeps the training sustainable decade over decade.
Michael Ohioze, Great Britain national team and a 2021 Olympian, has trained with us. Read what he said about it.
Other training options
- Private & semi-private. One-on-one or with a partner, including a movement assessment and force plate assessment, with programming built around you. More on private training.
- Online training. Programmed by the same coaches and delivered through the Bridge Athletic app, based on the equipment you actually have access to, at one to four sessions a week. More on online training.
- Olympic lifting. Coached barbell work, priced separately on the plans page.
Adult class times are on the weekly schedule, and group training is priced the same for adults as it is for our athletes. See the plans page.
